The 2017 Annandale CROP Hunger Walk will be Saturday morning, October 14, at Lake Accotink Park. All are invited to participate. Registration begins at 8 am near the marina. Following a brief opening ceremony, the walk begins at 8:30 am. The walk uses the Lake Accotink trail and is about 10 kilometers. The Annandale CROP Hunger Walk raises funds for Church World Service’s hunger and refugee relief and development programs and for ACCA. Walkers collect donations to CWS from sponsors online or by check or cash.
Church World Service works with Christian organizations around the world to sponsor programs for hunger, disaster and refugee relief, and sustainable development programs to help improve peoples’ lives. In the U.S., CWS responds to natural disasters and supports refugee resettlement. CWS returns part of the funds raised by CROP Walks to community efforts to fight hunger and poverty. The 2016 Annandale CROP Hunger Walk raised $19,114, and ACCA received $4778.50.
