ACCA’s board and volunteers are looking forward to a fulfilling 2025. That means accomplishing its mission to provide food, financial aid, furniture, transportation, and early childhood education in the Annandale, Bailey’s Crossroads, and Lincolnia communities.
We won’t rest on our laurels, but if we did, these would be among our highlights:
- Family Emergency Assistance Program provided rent, utilities, and medical needs to 1,853 local families since FY2020.
- Nutrition/Hygiene ministry assisted 6,453 local families with a 7-10 day food supply since FY2020.
- Furniture Ministry delivered household items to 360 homes since FY2020.
- Drivers provided 586 round-trip rides to seniors in 2024.
- Housing Ministry helped repair two houses for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in 2024.
- Partnership with Just Neighbors and the Neighbor-to-Neighbor program supported immigrants in the area.
In addition to ACCA’s volunteer-dependent activities, its Child Development Center’s professional staff offered quality pre-k education to more than 296 children in 2024.
How does ACCA do it all?
One final number from the past is the answer: 99% of ACCA’s positions are held by volunteers.
