The IT-Operations Liaison Volunteer acts as the primary bridge between the operational staff and the IT consultant. This role ensures that technical needs are clearly communicated to the IT team, while IT protocols are accurately implemented within the organization. This person helps streamline processes, troubleshoot issues, and ensure technology supports the organization’s mission efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bridge Communication: Serve as the first point of contact for operational staff technical inquiries, filtering and escalating issues to the IT consultant as needed..
- Process Translation: Translate technical specifications from IT into easy-to-understand procedures for non-technical operations staff.
- Issue Resolution Tracking: Maintain a log of technical issues that affect operations, tracking them from report to resolution.
- System Training: Provide training to staff on new tools or operating procedures.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Technical Familiarity: Proficiency in standard office software (Microsoft Office 365) with an analytical mindset and technical aptitude.
- Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical teams.
- Organization: Proficient in project coordination with the ability to track multiple issues simultaneously.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze human workflows, identify bottlenecks, and propose practical solutions.
- Availability: Ability to commit to regular weekly hours (e.g., 5-10 hours/week).
Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience in IT support, administrative operations, or as a volunteer in a similar capacity.
